Scarab races for the SPCA at the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2015

Our rider, Ida-Marie, is set to champion the cause of our underprivileged furry friends.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour, as it now officially known, a.k.a “The Argus Race”, is one of the biggest events on the cyclists calendar the world over. Right now however, the fires that have ravaged the landscape have not put a damper on our spirits! Our hearts go out to all the families that have been directly affected by these awful fires.

The city, awash with riders from all over the globe are polishing up their helmets for Sunday’s Race. It’s going to be so exciting!

Cape Town artist and photographer, Tamsyn Samuels did this lovely sketch showing Ida as the “knight-on-her-steed”, on the day of the race, defending our furry friends… the necklace you see is an Onyx and interlocking silver hearts piece we donated to raise funds for the SPCA – we put it up for raffle and are selling raffle tickets online.

The piece is worth about R5000 and tickets are going for R200 – ends Sunday 8 March at 3pm. The winner of the Raffle will be announced on Monday after the race.
